OPPORTUNITY

The addition of 8 sites in the past year and future M&A opportunities have created the need for a centralized Procurement Specialist within the company. Reporting to the CFO, but working with Pharmacy Operations & Finance, you will play a key role in optimizing supply chain and inventory management for the company.  This position requires a supply chain professional with a specific emphasis towards pharmacy procurement and contract management. Preference will be given to registered pharmacist or PharmD’s who have transitioned to business / operations. Company is willing to flex on salary / title based on experience and skill set.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the best suppliers for inventory purchases factoring in prices, volume rebates, payment term discounts, and other factors impacting COGS.
  • Analyze inventory spend and order trends, pricing, and inventory levels for key functional metrics
  • Enhance profitability by controlling & reducing costs, improving payment terms, reducing inventory, & building a culture of optimizing supply chain efficiency.
  • Forecast operational supply needs, in coordination with accounting, pharmacy, and clinical dept. leads to pro-actively address delays to mitigate negative patient service levels.
  • Recommend process improvements, new ideas and strategies promoting a harmonious environment
  • Work on special projects as requested by management and participate in department meeting for the purpose of conveying and or gathering information needed to perform job functions.
  • Research & negotiate with suppliers to determine product or service needs and availability as necessary
  • Communicate with vendors, Pharmacy team members, and Leadership to align goals
  • Provide support for external audits & respond to requests from private equity investor

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, finance, or related field. Registered pharmacist and PharmD’s who have transitioned to business / operation are encouraged to apply.
  • 2-5 years of previous experience in pharmaceutical procurement or purchasing
  • Knowledge of and experience with Group Purchasing Organizations and pharma wholesalers
  • Experience in industry procedures, contracting, purchasing, & expediting in the pharmaceutical market
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple sites
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and organizational skills
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
