The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller on management reporting, investor reporting, month-end close, account analysis, reconciliations, payables, and receivables.


Responsibilities

Ownership of the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities at the firm

Closing the books at month-end

Preparing the monthly financial reporting package for the partners

Maintaining the QuickBooks General Ledgers of multiple investment companies

Preparing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations

Preparing journal entries as needed

Working closely with the Fund Administrators including answering questions and reviewing the monthly, quarterly, and annual Fund financial statements

Supporting the annual external audits of the financial statements, including any required schedules and responding to auditor questions/requests and drafting the footnotes

Preparing/reviewing the quarterly/annual investor reports/letters for each Fund and related Portfolio Companies

Preparing capital call analyses and distribution payment notices to the investors

Answering investor inquiries regarding capital calls, distributions, and ad hoc requests

Assisting with monthly forecasts and annual budgets

Keeping the Boyne related legal entities in compliance and maintaining the relationship with the third party registered agent

Preparing yearend financial schedules/reports to send to various tax return preparers

Reviewing and tying out annual tax returns to the financial statements

Maintaining the firm’s Investor Portal and contact database for investors

Setting up and managing various policies and procedures for the firm


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required

Active CPA license is strongly preferred, with 3+ years of applied work experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP

Experience implementing new systems and processes

Tax and partnership accounting experience is preferred

Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred

Strong work ethic/integrity and excellent attitude

Above-average pace of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

Self-disciplined with a strong commitment to producing high-quality work

Effectively manages and prioritizes multiple projects

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Private equity experience is highly valued
